It was an exciting competition for our Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu coach, Professor Takeo Tani, who led the Singapore National Jiu-Jitsu Team at the 31st SEA Games in Vietnam, bringing home an impressive haul of three medals. An effort to be proud for all involved!
To medal, the competitors were required to win multiple matches against various opponents all on the same day. Under Professor Takeo Tani's leadership and experience, the team manage to bring home 1 Gold, 1 Silver and 1 Bronze medal during the competition. With this, the current medal hauls Professor Takeo Tani has amassed as a Head Coach is an impressive 3 Gold, 2 Silver & 5 Bronze over the past two SEA Games edition.
Professor Takeo has instructed and nurtured many Jiu-Jitsu world champions. Under his belt, he has taught thousands of students during his time as an instructor in Japan, Brazil, Singapore and the USA. Having been a black belt for more than 20 years, he brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the mats.
With Professor Takeo Tani sharing his knowledge with the next generation, there’s bound to be more trophies and medals in the lion city’s future. Congratulations to Professor Takeo Tani and to all involved with Singapore’s National Jiu-Jitsu Team’s successful SEA Games.
